As wonderful as professional success is, it almost always is the result of dedication and particularly processing many lessons learned. Along the way, the journey to attaining that success, though, can also feel uncharted, uncertain, and especially hard to integrate with…well…life. And for women, especially those who are entrepreneurs or founders in the tech and business world, managing and overcoming the many systemic barriers can make this feel like expending an immense amount of energy on a very lonely path. Rajul Kadakia is the CEO and co-founder of Tech Girl and thankfully is creating a more equitable landscape for women in the tech industry, and especially supporting vehicles for funding, development, and empowerment. She’s a serial entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist, who started in investment banking and through her experience has built an expertise as an angel investor to identify and nurture promising startups, with a particular lens on women-led ventures. She has been a champion in promoting gender equity and empowering diverse founders and through mentorship and collaboration, is building a welcoming ecosystem that fosters inclusion and community building. Moreover, Rajul’s commitment to giving and philanthropy is part of her core values, serving on many non-profit boards, and one of the founder’s circle members at Indiaspora, the non-profit group that’s inspiring and positioning global Indians to be a force for good. We caught up for a conversation about her ongoing work and the lessons learned from her many experiences, but I started by asking a bit more about Tech Girl, especially what it has meant for her personally and why…

And I want to share a bit more with you now about Indiaspora, a non-profit whose mission is to inspire and position the global Indian diaspora to be a force for good. The organization is engaged in the areas of philanthropy, social impact, entrepreneurship, innovation, as well as civic and non-partisan political engagement. Indiaspora is active in an ever-expanding list of countries including the US, UK, Canada, the UAE, Singapore, and Australia. This year, with the backdrop of India holding the G20 presidency, Indiaspora is organizing a three day forum in New Delhi in late August to review and discuss some of the most pressing issues of our times: from climate change to foreign policy to economic equity and inclusion and healthcare. You can find out more at www.indiaspora.org and follow Indiaspora on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LInked In.
